Last year Google launched their new search algorithm called “Hummingbird”.  They are now wanting us to focus more on what Google terms “conversational speach” and other SEO experts call “question-based” searches.

As an example, on Google Chrome web browser you can speak you your computer or smartphone and ask it a question… “where can I get a waterproof cover for my Iphone5 on the Gold Coast”.  Google will endeavour to find the most relevant, quality answers by delivering web pages that offer those answers.

What this means to you and I is that we need to be updating and adding more conversational content (answers to the questions) rather then just keywords to all our web properties (website, blog, Google Plus, Facebook, Twiter, LinkedIn, etc…).  And do this on a regular basis!!!
